Stephenville Theatre Festival proudly presents our Holiday production, “Penning the Carol” written and performed by Aiden Flynn
Stephenville Theatre Festival proudly presents our Holiday production, “Penning the Carol” adapted and performed by Aiden Flynn
From the imagination of Aiden Flynn comes a one-man retelling of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol capturing the true holiday spirit of the original story, together with a peek into how Dickens might have conceived the idea of the classic tale.
In the play, Scrooge and the accompanying cast of characters are created in a session of intense writing and storytelling. Penning The Carol has become an important fixture in St. John’s every Christmas and STF is very fortunate that Aiden will be bringing his show to the Stephenville Day’s Inn for the very first time.
Don’t miss this original piece of holiday theatre starring one of Newfoundland and Labrador’s pre-eminent actors, playing one night only!
Friday, Dec 28th at the Stephenville Days Inn.

Prepare to be thrilled by an unforgettable summer of live theatre.
Our exciting season runs from July 22 to August 20, 2022.
Opening the festival on the Mainstage is 9 TO 5 – THE MUSICAL, a funny and fierce story set in the Rolodex era. With music and lyrics by the one and only Dolly Parton and a script by Patricia Resnick, 9 to 5 – THE MUSICAL is based on the seminal 1980 hit movie. Set in the late 1970s, this hilarious story of friendship, revenge, and female empowerment is outrageous, thought-provoking, and even a little romantic.
Poisoned apples. Glass slippers. Who needs ’em?! Not Snow White and her posse of DISENCHANTED princesses in the hilarious hit musical that’s anything but Grimm. Written by Dennis T. Giacino, DISENCHANTED features many original storybook heroines who are none-too-happy with the way they’ve been portrayed in today’s pop culture so they’ve tossed their tiaras and have come to life to set the record straight. Forget the princesses you think you know – these royal renegades are here to comically belt out the truth.
A creative and contemporary musical spin of a classic tale written by Julian Butler, NEVERLAND is sure to inspire audiences of all ages with the magic of theatrical storytelling. 13-year-old Wendy is off on an ‘awfully big adventure’ to visit her father. She meets an orphan named Peter Pan, who takes her hand and flies around the world to Neverland, where they encounter the lost boys, pirates, mermaids, and fairies and are swept up in the magic of Peter’s world.
ONE HIT WONDERS & ALL-TIME GREATS – a Dinner Theatre Game Show! The music we all know and love…but who was that recording artist? In the first act of this entertaining dinner theatre performance, guests will compete, trying to name the songs and recording artists of beloved “one-hit wonders”. In the second act, the audience will enjoy a family feud-style game show where the winners of the first round receive clues and attempt to guess which all-time great song is being performed next! A new spin on our popular dinner theatre, complete with carefully curated popular music, fun facts, and an audience interactive game show, is not to be missed!
Stay tuned for more exciting announcements about additional special presentations, events, Our “Come Home To” Presentations, special promotions, and ticket offers.
