AUDITIONS

We are looking for versatile artists who identify as comedic actors, strong vocalists, and/or a triple threat performers. Playing an instrument is a plus. We are also looking to showcase country music as well as some folk, rock and pop. 

 

The desired dates are from mid June-August 19th. The starting date may  shift depending on which shows you are cast in. 

 

These auditions will be general auditions. Auditions asks for certain roles will be requested at a later date on a case by case basis.

 

• The Stephenville Theatre Festival is the longest running professional theatre company in Newfoundland.
• STF works under the DOT for CAEA actors and otherwise is a non-union company.
• Typically STF shows run for four weeks in rep mid July to mid august with 3-4 weeks of rehearsal before that (so a 8-9 week contract). We will be announcing the full season and schedule in late March.  The intended dates for this season are July 18th-August 17th with rehearsals beginning the first week of June. 
• The STF season will be announced in the coming weeks. Some artists will be contracted to perform in multiple productions in repertoire.
• We encourage all levels of experience and age ranges to apply; artists under 18 yrs of age may only be considered as part of our young company.  

We encourage submissions from artists who self-identify as members of under-represented communities including but not limited to artists of all genders, ethnicities, abilities and identities and/or facing other systemic challenges in our industry.

• Musical Theatre performers please prepare one musical theatre song of your choice and one pop, rock or country song of your choice (bonus points if it’s Canadian!). These songs do not need to be more than two minutes each. If you have a monologue, we would love to have that attached too. 
• Actors please prepare a monologue and a bit of a song song of your choice. 
• You can slate and let us know if you are represented. If you like, you can include any kind of fun and friendly introduction as well.
